YOU NEVER Throw something away, you only throw it somewhere

Every year 40 billion plastic bottles end up in landfills. Eventually, these bottles join the 8.8 billion tons of plastic waste that enter the oceans every year. Plastic pollution currently threatens over 800 different marine species and yet, we continue to produce more and more of it. Production of disposable plastics increased by 620 percent in the last 30 years alone.

Ireland has over 220 million acres of seabed, ten times our landmass. We have a true obligation to protect our waters. Dutch researchers have found 70% of discarded plastic ends up on the sea bed. Some 600,000 tonnes of plastic sits at the bottom of the North Sea. Every second breathe we take comes from the ocean, if we fail to act we will we are facing the potential extinction of many sea life species and the interruption of the entire ecosystem and we risk the health of anyone that eats seafood

FREE REFILL IRL is a practical tap water campaign that aims to make refilling your bottle as easy, convenient and cheap as possible by introducing refill points on every street.
